Summer Camp – ‘Tell me a Story’

Join me, Hannah Holden, founder of Forest Lights – Learning English Outdoors, for a week where creativity, storytelling, and nature come together. Children will build confidence in their English skills while fully enjoying the freedom and magic of being outdoors. I’m a qualified and experienced English teacher with a passion for bringing learning to life beyond the classroom.

When?

  • Monday 3rd – Friday 7th August 2026.

Where?

  • Drop-off at 08:30 and pick-up at 17:00 at Schützenmatt Park.

  • Later pick-ups can be arranged individually for an additional cost.

  • Nutritious snacks and a freshly prepared homemade lunch are provided for your child each day.

What to Expect

Each day, we’ll head into the forest or another outdoor location—giving us space to explore, imagine, and create.

Through games, storytelling, and hands-on activities, children will develop their writing skills in a natural and engaging way. We’ll read inspiring stories, share ideas, and learn from one another, while also bringing stories to life through art, painting, and creative projects.

  • For older children: we’ll focus on building vocabulary, writing descriptively, and creating mood and atmosphere.

  • For younger children: we’ll explore how to structure a story with a beginning, middle, and end, while developing confidence in speaking and storytelling.

By the end of the week, each child will have created a piece of writing they feel proud of—something they’ll be excited to share at home.

And most importantly…

  • This camp is about more than writing - there will be plenty of time to play, climb trees, splash in streams, build dens, get messy, and fully enjoy the freedom of being outdoors. Learning happens along the way—through curiosity, creativity, and adventure.

Who is it for?

  • English speaking children aged 6–12.  The group will purposefully be kept small to ensure all children are safe and supported.

How much is it?

  • The one week camp costs 500CHF, this includes all resources and snacks and lunch.
